Academic honor roll recognized at basketball

FAYETTEVILLE – More than 230 Razorback student-athletes were honored as members of the 2011 University of Arkansas Fall Academic Honor Roll on Wednesday night at halftime of the Arkansas-Auburn men’s basketball game at Bud Walton Arena. The 234 honorees from all 19 Razorback sports earned selection to the honor roll by registering a GPA of 3.0 or better in the fall 2011 semester.
Ten Razorback teams boasted a team average GPA of 3.0 or higher in the fall including men’s golf, women’s golf, gymnastics, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, men’s tennis, women’s tennis, women’s track and field and volleyball. Women’s tennis posted the highest women’s team GPA in the fall with a 3.417 while men’s golf took top honors for men’s teams with a 3.544 GPA.
As part of Wednesday night’s ceremony, former Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Support Services Melissa Harwood-Rom was also honored for her more than 20 years of service to Razorback Athletics. Harwood-Rom recently took a position on campus as the senior associate dean of students.
Among the student-athletes honored on Wednesday night were 32 Academic Champions, those who posted a perfect 4.0 GPA last fall. Those earning a perfect 4.0 in the fall were:
