FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The No. 7 University of Arkansas men’s golf team faces a championship field beginning Sunday morning when it participates in the PING/Golfweek Preview at the Capital City Club in Alpharetta, Ga.
Arkansas is one of 15 of the nation’s top teams that were invited to the annual event which is in its 23rd year. The tournament is contested at the site of the NCAA Championship and includes the top eight finishers from the previous season’s NCAA Championship as well as the top teams from the current year. The Razorbacks’ top 10 ranking earned them a berth in the 2012 event.
Scheduled to participate in the event are 14 top 25 teams including eight of the top nine and 13 of the top 18. No. 1 Alabama, No. 2 California, No. 3 Texas, No. 4 Georgia Tech, No. 5 UCLA, No. 6 Washington, No. 7 Arkansas, No. 9 Texas A&M, No. 13 Kent State, No. 15 UNLV, No. 16 Florida State, No. 17 Georgia, No. 18 New Mexico, No. 24 Chattanooga and San Diego State will participate in a practice round on Saturday and play 18 holes on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Nicolas Echavarria to make up the Razorback five. Arkansas begins the competition as one of the final groups out on Sunday, teeing off at 10:40 a.m. from the first tee with players from Texas A&M and San Diego State.
