FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The No. 14 University of Arkansas men’s golf team continues its spring season on Sunday when it competes in the first of three rounds at the John Hayt Invitational in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.  The three-day event at Sawgrass Country Club begins on Sunday morning, Feb. 24, and runs through Tuesday, Feb. 26.

Arkansas is faced with a tough challenge at the John Hayt as it is one of six top 25 teams competing at the event.  Along with the Razorbacks are No. 7 Florida, No. 11 Duke, No. 12 LSU, No. 22 Tennessee, No. 25 North Florida, UAB, Central Florida, Coastal Carolina, Furman, Jacksonville, Mercer, North Texas and Tulsa.

The Razorback lineup includes senior Austin Cook, juniors Sebastian Cappelen and William Meason, sophomore Thomas Sorensen and freshman Taylor Moore.  Meason is making his spring debut this week after a solid fall season.  Arkansas is scheduled to begin at 8:45 a.m. eastern from the first tee and pairs with players from LSU and Duke.

Last season the Razorbacks won the event by four strokes as they shot a combined eight-over par as a team against another good field.  Former Razorback Ethan Tracy had a tremendous tournament, shooting three-under par to finished third and he was followed by Cappelen and Cook who tied for 15th at four-over par and Josh Eure who tied for 27th at seven-over par.
