HUMBLE, Texas – A pair of two-under par 70s by senior Sebastian Cappelen and sophomore Taylor Moore highlighted a two-under 286 on the second day of the Bayou City Collegiate Championships by the No. 19 Arkansas men’s golf team, as the Razorbacks sit in sole possession of fourth place in the 15-team field taking on The Golf Club of Houston.

The day yielded seven under-par team scores, including the third in a row by the Razorbacks who shot a one-under 287 on Friday. Tournament host and No. 15 Houston (557) increased its lead to nine strokes with a round of 11-under par 277. No. 21 Texas (566) is nine strokes back, while No. 29 South Carolina (571) is in third, just two strokes ahead of Arkansas.

Sunday’s final round will be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. with the Razorbacks playing alongside No. 31 Baylor and Louisiana Tech. Arkansas will go off on holes 4-7 with live scoring available through www.GolfStat.com or www.ArkansasRazorbacks.com. In round Twitter updates can be found by following @RazorbackMGolf.

Moore will enter Sunday in a tie for 13th place, as he extended his streak of consecutive par or lower rounds to four with the 70. The reigning SEC Golfer of the Week was one-under on each side, moving up 10 spots on the leaderboard. Through the two rounds, Moore has 26 pars, six birdies and has played the par 3s, par 4s and par 5s even par or lower.

The under-par round was the 10th in 20 rounds this year for Cappelen, a member of The Ben Hogan Award Watch List. Cappelen started his round with a birdie for the second straight day as he put together a 34-36/70 scorecard. Cappelen’s round was four strokes better than Friday’s 74 and moved him up 17 spots into a tie for 27th place.

Redshirt sophomore Kolton Crawford and redshirt senior William Meason supplied the final two counting scores on the day with one-over 73s. Crawford fired an even-par 72 in round one and fought back from being four-over through five holes by playing three-under the rest of the way with no bogeys for the 73. Meason’s 73 was a one-stroke improvement from Friday, as he was one-under until the final two holes. Crawford is in a tie for 31st while Meason is tied for 43rd.

After a three-under 69 in the opening round that included five straight birdies, sophomore Nicolas Echavarria carded a 74 to remain in the top 20 in a tie for 19th position. Through the two rounds, Echavarria leads the Razorbacks with eight birdies and is tied for fourth amongst the field in par 4 scoring (-2).
