FAYETTEVILLE – Future Razorback Summer Morgan was named the West’s Most Outstanding Player for her performance during the 2012 AHSCA All-Star volleyball match Tuesday night. Representing Springdale Har-Ber High School, she racked up a match-high 12 kills for the West squad. The all-star match was played at Barnhill Arena.
Morgan helped rally the West from a two-set deficit to force a decisive fifth game. Along the way, she posted a .455 hitting percentage with 12 kills on 22 attempts, and just two attack errors. Morgan also tallied four digs and two total blocks in the match.
The Springdale, Ark., native is part of Arkansas’ 2012-13 recruiting class that was recognized last month by PrepVolleyball.com as the No. 26 incoming class in the country. In addition to Morgan, that group includes Monica Bollinger (St. Louis, Mo.), Liz Fortado (Flower Mound, Texas), Ana Jusino (Orlando, Fla.) and Adrien Wohlschlaeger (Conroe, Texas).
During her senior season, Morgan was a PrepVolleyball Special Mention All-American, received Senior Ace recognition and was an all-state performer for Har-Ber. For more information regarding Razorback volleyball or University of Arkansas athletics, please visit ArkansasRazorbacks.com.
