FAYETTEVILLE – Following a standout senior campaign with the University of Arkansas volleyball team, Roslandy Acosta has realized the life-long dream of playing professional volleyball. She has signed a professional contract to play with Valencianas de Juncos of the Puerto Rico Superior League.

An All-America candidate, Acosta was named an AVCA All-South Region First Team performer following a season in which she averaged 3.15 kills per set, tallied seven double-double performances and had double-digit kill figures in the final 15 matches of the season. She closed out her Razorback career with a career-high 20 kills against Wichita State in the NCAA Tournament.

For her efforts on the court, Acosta was also voted to the All-SEC First Team, and during the year, was named the MVP of the season-opening Arkansas Invitational and earned all-tournament honors at the adidas/Michigan Challenge. The Vargas, Venezuela, native closed out her two-year Razorback career with 591 kills. She joined Arkansas prior to the 2011 season after spending two years at Cowley College where she was an All-American and the 2010 AVCA Two-Year National Player of the Year.

Acosta will be one of two former Razorbacks to play in the Puerto Rican league, joining Yarleen Santiago (1997-99) who plays for Gigantes de Carolina.
