FAYETTEVILLE - The University of Arkansas volleyball team closed out its spring competition schedule with a four-set win against Missouri State last Thursday at the Hammons Student Center in Springfield, Mo. The match was the last of five competition dates for the Razorbacks during their spring calendar.

"This was a great way to wrap up a very productive spring," head coach Robert Pulliza said. "The program is at a great place right now and we need to make sure we keep moving forward as we head into next fall with big expectations."

In their final match of its offseason, Arkansas knocked off the home-team Bears, 25-19, 25-21, 23-25, 26-24. With the match already decided, the teams went on to play a fifth set, also won by the Razorbacks by a score of 17-15. Each member of the team saw action on the floor against Missouri State, a 2010 NCAA Tournament team. During the spring, the Razorbacks had three matches, an exhibition against Texas and round-robin play at the Kansas State spring tournament.

In addition to competition, Arkansas also participated in a workout with Kansas and conducted a clinic with Special Olympics Arkansas. During the summer months, Pulliza and his staff will host several camp sessions, beginning the first week of July.
