Third TV match added for 2012 season

FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas volleyball team has added a third television match for the 2012 season. In addition to the two matches previously announced as part of the Southeastern Conference package, the Razorbacks’ Sept. 30 home match against LSU will be televised by Cox Sports (CST) with first serve scheduled for 1 p.m. (CT) at Barnhill Arena.

Arkansas’ other television appearances this season are a Nov. 11 matchup with Kentucky in Fayetteville and Nov. 21 broadcast at LSU. The Razorbacks’ match against UK will be televised by SportSouth at noon (CT) and the SEC Western Division matchup in Baton Rouge, La., will be aired on ESPNU. With this season’s schedule, five of the past eight Arkansas-LSU matches will have been played in front of a television audience.

The team will hold its Red-White match Saturday at Barnhill Arena. The preseason exhibition, which is free and open to the public, is scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. (CT) start. Fans can enter Barnhill Arena though the entrances on the south side of the building.

The Razorbacks begin their season Aug. 24-25 with the Arkansas Invitational, the team’s first of two home tournaments during the year. The field for the season-opening event includes UT-Martin, Northwestern State and Kansas. Arkansas will play 18 home matches in 2012, including seven against teams that advanced to last year’s NCAA Tournament and eight against teams either ranked or receiving votes in the AVCA preseason poll.

Reserved season tickets for the season are $50 while first-time buyers can get tickets for $29. First-time season ticket buyers will also receive $20 worth of concession stand coupons from Sodexho.
