FAYETTEVILLE – University of Arkansas women’s basketball coach Tom Collen joins the Southeastern Conference coaches at 2012 SEC Media Day in Birmingham, Ala., today.

Media Day has undergone some changes in the format this year welcoming the addition of Missouri and Texas A&M to the program.

Previous year Media Days saw interview sessions with the head coach and one player from both the men’s and women’s teams at each university.  This year, only head coaches from the women’s and men’s teams participate and the sessions are a bit shorter.

The 2012 SEC Media Day format is divided into four sessions beginning at 8 a.m. central and running through 5 p.m. with each of the four sessions lasting about two hours.

Collen and the Razorbacks have a lot to talk about at this year’s event.  The reigning SEC Coach of the Year paced Arkansas to the second round of the NCAA Tournament and got an advanced look at Texas A&M, falling to the Aggies on their home court in the final game of the year.

Collen begins his day at 8 a.m. with a session with ESPNW.  He moves to SIRUS/XM Radio at 8:20 a.m. followed by a 10 minute interview with the SEC at 8:30.

The Razorback head coach moves next to the main media room at 8:40 a.m. for a 40 minute session with print and digital reporters in an open forum format. He wraps up his day with meetings with FSN, CSS and the SEC Digital Network.

SEC Media Days signal the fast approaching start of the 2012-13 season.  Arkansas opens with an exhibition against Rogers State Nov. 4, and hosts Jackson State in the season/home opener Nov. 9 at 11 a.m.
