Keira Peak named SEC Player of the Week

FAYETTEVILLE - University of Arkansas junior Keira Peak earned Southeastern Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors, the league office announced today.

Peak, a 5-9 forward from Clyattville, Ga., led Arkansas to a 2-1 record at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Rainbow Wahine Showdown, scoring 70 points over the three games en route to being named tournament MVP. She scored a career high 30 points in the tournament's opening game, and added 16 points in a win over host Hawai'i. In the final game, a victory over Oregon, she recorded her second double-double of the season, posting 24 points and 10 rebounds. Peak also contributed 12 points in the Razorbacks' first game of the week, a 80-57 win at Oral Roberts.

Led by Peak, the Razorbacks were 3-1 on the week's road trip, and are 5-1 overall. She averaged 20.5 points, 5.5. rebounds, 2.8 steals, and 1.7 assists on the week. Peak is the Razorback's leading scorer on the season with 17.7 points per game.

Peak and the Razorbacks return home from Hawaii to play their next three games at Bud Walton Arena. Arkansas hosts Texas Southern on Thursday at 7 p.m. (CT).
