FAYETTEVILLE - The University of Arkansas women's basketball team continues its series of opponent previews as it counts down to tipoff of the 2013-14 season. Next up on the nonconference schedule for the Razorbacks is the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes.

Opponent: Tulsa Golden Hurricanes

Date: Dec. 10, 2013 - 7 p.m.

Location: Bud Walton Arena - Fayetteville, Ark.

Series Results: This marks the 18th meeting between the Golden Hurricanes and Razorbacks. Arkansas holds a 16-2 all-time record against Tulsa. The last time the two programs met was during the 2007-08 season, as the Razorbacks earned a 69-52 win over the Golden Hurricanes. The first meeting between the two dates back to the 1976-77 season, when Tulsa edged out Arkansas in a 77-76 final.

Last Season: Tulsa finished 17-17 overall, winning just four games on the road and going 4-11 on visiting courts. The Golden Hurricanes went 8-8 in Southland Conference play and finished sixth in league standings.

Tulsa put together a postseason push by winning the Conference USA tournament championship for the second time in program history and advancing to the NCAA tournament for the second time in school history. The Golden Hurricanes fell, however, to No. 1 seed and No. 4 ranked Stanford, 72-56, in the first round.

Foe to Know: Kelsee Grovey, 5-8, Guard, Sophomore. Grovey returns as the leading scorer for the Golden Hurricanes this season, having scored 10.5 points per game last season. The Shawnee, Okla., native shot 36.3 percent from the field, including 31.9 percent from beyond the arc. She started in 30 of 32 games last season and was named to the C-USA All-Fresman and All-Tournament teams.

Carry Over?: Tulsa enters the 2013-14 season having won 10 of its last 14 contests last season, including four straight victories from Feb. 3 through Feb. 17, and five straight wins from March 7 until falling in the NCAA championship first round. In its first 20 games of the season, TU averaged 61.5 points per game, but had a 65.9 ppg average in the final 14 contests. Four of the final 14 contests were at home, while six were away and four took place on neutral courts.
