FAYETTEVILLE - The University of Arkansas women's basketball team continues its series of opponent previews as it counts down to tipoff of the 2013-14 season. Next up on the nonconference schedule for the Razorbacks is the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles.

Opponent: Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles

Date: Dec. 20, 2013 - 7 p.m.

Location: Bud Walton Arena - Fayetteville, Ark.

Series Results: This marks just the second meeting between the Golden Eagles and Razorbacks. Tennessee Tech won the first and only matchup between the two programs, 96-75, during the 1980-81 season.

Last Season: Tennessee Tech finished 19-12 overall and was an impressive 8-5 in road games. The Golden Eagles went 12-4 in Ohio Valley Conference play, earning the top spot in the league's East Division standings and sharing the regular season Ohio Valley Conference title. The team advanced to the championship game of the OVC tournament, but fell to UT Martin in overtime, 87-80.

Foe to Know: Diamond Henderson, 5-6, Guard, Junior. Henderson returns as the leading scorer for the Golden Eagles after scoring 15.8 points per game last season. The Kennesaw, Ga., native played in 31 games last season, starting in 21 of them. An efficient shooter, Henderson was 47.8 percent from the floor and 38.6 percent from beyond the arc. Henderson was selected as the 2012-13 Tennessee Tech Female Athlete of the Year for her role in the team's success last season.

Building on Success:  Tennessee Tech opened up the conference season with a 4-0 record last season, becoming the first Tech team to do so since 2001-02. With Diamond Henderson and Jala Harris both honored as OVC Players of the Week, and Lashay Davis twice named Newcomer of the Week, the future appears bright for the Golden Eagles. The team also advanced to the OVC semifinals and championship game, marking the 31st tournament appearance and 27th semifinal game since the OVC Tournament's creation in 1982.
