FAYETTEVILLE - Senior All-American gymnast Jaime Pisani has been hot for Arkansas with 13 individual event wins the last three weeks and she's now ranked No. 1 in the nation on two different events.
Pisani won four titles at No. 16 Missouri last week and has climbed back to the No. 1 position on floor. She was No. 1 in the country in the all-around last week and she's maintained that position for the second straight week. Pisani was previously No. 1 on floor for a five-week stretch from Jan. 30-Feb. 27.
She has a Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) of 39.590 in the all-around with an average of 39.460, and a school-record high and national high of 39.725. On floor, she's tied for the top spot in the nation with an RQS of 9.940, leads the nation with an average score of 9.929 and has matched the national high this year with a school-record 9.975.
Pisani had two 9.95s last week to win vault and floor, and she won beam with a 9.90 and the all-around with a 39.60.
Senior Mariah Howdeshell won bars at Missouri with a 9.875 and has moved up to No. 3 in the country.
The week before, at West Virginia, Pisani won the all-around, bars, beam and floor. The previous week, at home against Minnesota, she won all five titles, tying Howdeshell for the win on bars.
Pisani is also tied for No. 7 on bars, tied for No. 9 on vault and tied for No. 11 on beam.
Sophomore All-American Katherine Grable, who has missed the last two meets with an ankle injury, is No. 4 in the all-around, No. 6 on floor, tied for No. 6 on vault and tied for No. 11 on beam.
Sophomore Shelby Salmon is tied for No. 38 on bars and junior Jordan Salsberg, who is out for the year with a knee injury, is No. 37 in the all-around.
As a team, the Razorbacks are No. 10 in the country. Arkansas is tied for No. 5 on vault, No. 6 on bars, No. 14 on beam and No. 8 on floor.
In the South Central Region rankings, Arkansas is No. 3 overall, on vault, bars and floor, and No. 4 on beam.
Pisani is No. 1 in the all-around and on floor, tied for No. 3 on beam, tied for No. 4 on vault and is No. 5 on bars.
Grable is No. 3 in the all-around and Salsberg No. 10. On vault, Grable is No. 3, Salsberg tied for No. 12, and juniors Amy Borsellino and Kelci Lewis, and sophomore Scarlett Williams are tied for No. 18. On bars, Howdeshell is tied for No. 2, Salmon is No. 10 and Grable is No. 12.
Grable is tied for No. 3 on beam and Williams is tied for No. 12. On floor, Grable is No. 3, Borsellino No. 18, and Lewis and sophomore Bailee Zumwalde tied for No. 24.
Arkansas heads to Duluth, Ga., this week for the Southeastern Conference Championship on Saturday at 4 p.m.
The Razorbacks will be back in Barnhill on April 7 for the NCAA South Central Regional. Tickets for the regional are $10 for adults. A $5 ticket is available for youth/students, everyone 18 and younger or with a valid UA student ID. A family plan is also available, including two adult and two youth tickets for $25.
