Seven on SEC honor roll

FAYETTEVILLE - Seven members of the University of Arkansas gymnastics team have been named to the Southeastern Conference's Winter Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced this week.

Senior Stacy Bartlett, sophomore Natalie Bohonsky, sophomore Kelci Lewis, junior Jaime Pisani, junior Genny Salvatore, sophomore Amanda Siebert and senior Michelle Stout are on the team.

Bartlett is from Taulatin, Ore., and majoring in hospitality management; Bohonsky is from Plano, Texas, and majoring in broadcast journalism; Lewis is from Collinsville, Okla., and majoring in kinesiology; Pisani is a junior from Ringwood, N.J., and is majoring in kinesiology; Salvatore is from Lawrence, Kan., and is majoring in art; Siebert is from Springdale, Ark., and is majoring in kinesiology; and Stout is from Endwell, N.Y., and is working on her master's in sport management.

Bartlett and Stout are on the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the fourth time, Pisani and Salvatore for the third, and Lewis and Siebert for the second.

Arkansas' seven selections are third-most in the conference. Seven or more Razorbacks have been named to the academic team in each of the four years.

That group recently helped the Razorbacks complete the 2011 season with a tie for ninth in the NCAA Championship. Arkansas finished tied for fourth in the NCAA Session I Semifinal and earned the school's seventh consecutive top 15 finish. Arkansas has had three top 10 finishes, all in the last four years.

Arkansas has earned a spot in an NCAA Regional eight straight years and advanced to the NCAA Championship five times, all in the last six years. The Razorbacks won the NCAA North Central Regional this year for their second NCAA Regional championship in three years. The five NCAA Championship appearances already rank 18th-most in the nation. The five appearances in the nine years the program has existed, since 2003, rank 12th-most in the country.

Individually, Pisani and Lewis were two of the four Razorbacks to earn All-America honors this year, joining freshman Katherine Grable and sophomore Amy Borsellino.

Pisani was a first-team All-American on floor, and second-team in the all-around and on beam. Lewis was a second-team selection All-American on floor.
