FAYETTEVILLE - Bailee Zumwalde, a regular in Arkansas' 2011 lineup as a freshman, has been named to the Southeastern Conference's First-Year Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced on Thursday.

Zumwalde, from St. Cloud, Minn., is a kinesiology major. To be eligible for the first-year award, student-athletes must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or above, be on scholarship or be a letterwinner, have completed 24 semester hours and been a member of a varsity squad for the entire year.

She competed in 13 meets last year, scoring a high of 9.825 on floor against No. 8 Alabama. She had a 9.80 in the home win over No. 1 Florida and in Denver for the NCAA North Central Regional, helping the Razorbacks upset No. 1 Florida for a second time and win the regional championship.

Zumwalde helped Arkansas record 11 wins over top 25 teams, earn a spot in an NCAA Regional for the eighth straight season and advance to the NCAA Championship for the fourth straight year. The Razorbacks finished fourth in the NCAA Session I Semifinal and missed advancing to the Super Six for the second time in program history by one spot. Arkansas tied for ninth in the nation for its second-best finish ever.

Zumwalde helped the Razorbacks finish with a top 15 final ranking for the seventh straight year.

She is the seventh Razorback to earn SEC academic honors this year. In an earlier announcement, senior Stacy Bartlett, sophomore Natalie Bohonsky, sophomore Kelci Lewis, junior Jaime Pisani, junior Genny Salvatore, sophomore Amanda Siebert and senior Michelle Stout were named to the SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll.

Stout was also named the SEC's co-Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
