FAYETTEVILLE - Arkansas' gymnastics team, seeded eighth of 12 teams at this week's NCAA Championship in Duluth, Ga., is coming off a record performance in the NCAA Regional in Fayetteville.

The Razorbacks, in finishing second in the regional on April 7 and advancing to the NCAA semifinals for the fifth straight year, set a school record for a regional by scoring a 196.825.

Arkansas competes in Friday's Session II semifinal at 5 p.m. in the Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Ga. The Razorbacks face Florida, Ohio State, Georgia, Alabama and Oregon State. The Session I semifinal includes UCLA, LSU, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Stanford and Utah. The top three teams from each session advance to Saturday's Super Six. The individual event finals are on Sunday.

Senior All-American Jaime Pisani, the Southeastern Conference Gymnast of the Year, set a school regional record in Barnhill Arena with a 39.625 in the all-around and a 9.925 on beam to win both events. She also tied the school regional record with a 9.90 on vault.

Arkansas has advanced to the NCAA Championship six times in its 10 years with all six trips coming in the last seven seasons.

The Razorbacks finished 12th in the nation in 2006, 10th in 2008, fifth in 2009, 11th in 2010 and tied for ninth in 2011.

Arkansas' school records in the NCAA Championship include a 196.95 team score, set in the 2009 Session II semifinal to advance to the Super Six for the first time.

The event records are 49.45 on vault in the 2009 semifinal, 49.125 on bars in 2010, 49.25 on beam in the 2009 semifinal and 49.275 on floor in 2011.

Individual record holders are Michelle Stout with an overall school record 9.975 on vault in the 2009 semifinal. Casey Jo Magee holds the bars record with three scores of 9.90 in 2008, and the 2010 semifinal session and individual event finals.

Magee, Alexandra LaChance and Sarah Nagashima share the beam record of 9.90. Magee had her scores in the 2009 Super Six and 2010 semifinal, and Nagashima and LaChance both in the 2009 semifinal.

On floor, Pisani set the standard with a 9.95 in last year's semifinal.

Magee holds the all-around mark with a 39.55 in 2010 when she finished second in the nation.
