LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The University of Arkansas women's tennis team finished a strong weekend at the Country Club of Little Rock Invitational, earning four singles victories over Ole Miss. Sunday's doubles matches were rained out, but the Razorbacks had a strong showing in singles in the afternoon against Ole Miss, who finished last season ranked No. 18 in the nation.

"Today is always one of my favorite days of the fall, the third day of a tough three day tournament," head coach Michael Hegarty said. "I was very pleased with the way we competed today against a stout Ole Miss team. Hats off to the whole squad, as we played very inspired tennis across the board. It's clear that this new team has an excellent spirit, and that meshes well with the high quality of play."

Senior Claudine Paulson earned her second win on the weekend, defeating Erin Stephens 6-2, 5-7, 6-4. Kimberley - Ann Surin and Ana Lorena Belmar Hernandez each won for the second straight day. Surin defeated the Rebels' Iris Verboven 6-0, 6-1, while Belmar Hernandez was victorious over Marlja Milutinovic in three sets 6-1, 1-6, 6-4.

Freshman Kristen Mee earned her first Razorback win on Sunday. Mee defeated Allie Robbins 6-3, 6-3.

The Razorbacks will continue the fall season by hosting the Razorback Classic on October 5-7. Missouri, Houston, and Tulsa will compete against Arkansas in Fayetteville.
