FAYETTEVILLE -  The University of Arkansas men's tennis team captured two titles while posting a 12-6 record in singles and 12-2 record in doubles play this weekend at the Louisville Fall Invitational.

Junior Pete Thomason went 3-0 in singles play taking home the flight C championship. Thomason breezed through his flight only allowing five points in three matches. Thomason defeated West Alabama's Honorio Fernandez 6-1, 6-2 in the championship match.

"We are very pleased with Pete's play this weekend," head coach Robert Cox said. "Going undefeated in singles and doubles against some quality competition is very impressive."

Thomason also captured the flight B doubles title with partner freshman Santiago Munoz. The duo went 4-0 on the weekend defeating Morehead State's Clifford and Deligny 8-5 in the championship match.

Each Razorback tallied at least three singles wins and two doubles victories this weekend. Along with his doubles championship, Munoz went 3-2 in singles winning his final match against Louisville's Colton Buffington 4-6, 6-3, 14-12.

Junior Mike Nott finished the tournament strong with a solid victory over Louisville's Jonathan Kuhn 6-1, 6-1.

Sophomore Victor Hoang closed his tournament falling in a tight match to West Alabama's Adam Drysdale 6-1, 2-6 10-6. Hoang went 3-2 in singles and 2-1 in doubles play this weekend.

"This is what we were hoping for," Coach Cox said. "We want to make sure each player is getting to play as much tennis as possible this fall. This is great experience and exposure for these young men and we are very pleased with the energy and intensity that they brought to the courts this weekend."

The Razorbacks are back in action next weekend when they travel to California for the Napa Challenge.
