FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas swimming and diving team is ranked No. 21 nationally in the first College Swimming Coaches Association of America poll.
The CSCAA ranking of 21st puts the Razorbacks amongst six other Southeastern Conference teams ranked nationally. The SEC is the most represented conference in the polls with a nations-best seven schools in the season’s first poll.
The Razorbacks have already squared off against two of the teams appearing in the polls as Georgia received the No. 2 overall national ranking and Missouri is receiving votes.
Arkansas started the season with competitive meets against three SEC foes, facing Georgia, Missouri and Kentucky in their first two meets of the season. The Razorbacks fell to Georgia despite clocking some impressive times in the meet, including seven times that rank in the top-20 nationally in their respective events. Arkansas is fresh off a dominating performance at Missouri where they defeated Kentucky, Missouri and Southern Illinois to sweep all three opponents in a triple dual meet. During the meet the Razorbacks compiled 10 event wins and had three one-two performances to go 3-0.
Arkansas will travel to Houston, Texas on Nov. 15 for the Houston Cougar Swimming and Diving Invitational. While in Houston, the Razorbacks will face 13 schools in swimming and six schools in diving. The UA will also face ranked opponents No. 4 Texas A&M and No. 17 LSU.
