FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. –  University of Arkansas sophomore Susanna White  picked up Southeastern Conference Swimmer of the Week honors for her performance this weekend against South Carolina, No. 21 Florida State, Davidson and Queens College as Arkansas went 4-0 in dual meets, it was announced Tuesday.

“Obviously Susanna stepped up her game, getting it done for the team when the meet was on the line,” head coach Sean Schimmel said. “It was nice to see her results starting to line up with her high level of work ethic.”

White led the Razorbacks on the weekend with four first-place individual finishes and helped Arkansas to three relay victories. The award is the sophomore’s second career SEC weekly accolade, as she picked up Freshman of the Week honors last season.

In the first of Arkansas’ two dual meets this weekend White had numerous highlights, one of which came when she swam a blistering 54.91 for a personal best in the 100 butterfly giving Arkansas an important first-place finish during a tight meet against No. 21 Florida State. In the very next event, White was able to grab another win as she bested her competition by over three whole seconds in the 200 individual medley.

The following day Arkansas returned to the pool to face Davidson and Queens College in a dual meet, and it was there the Forest, Va. native went unbeaten in all four races she competed in. She led the Razorbacks 400 medley relay team and 200 freestyle relay team to two victories and two Davidson pool records. White recorded a first-place finish in an event which is a little out of her element, nabbing the win in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.65. White also led Arkansas to a win in the 100 freestyle as the Razorbacks swept the top-four spots, clocking a time of 51.21 to take the win for the Razorbacks.

White and the Razorbacks (9-1, 3-1 SEC) return to the pool on Saturday, Feb. 2nd, when they travel to Lawrence, Kansas, to face the Kansas Jayhawks.
