House finished with a score of 514.40 in her two rounds on the one-meter board. She scored 255.40 in the first round, and was one of 18 divers to move on to the finals. The senior continued her strong performance with a score of 259.00 in the final round to achieve her total score and finish 12th overall.
"Alex dove very well today," said Arkansas diving coach Dale Schultz. "It was a tough competition, but she had a good performance."
Sophomore Kesha Naylor also dove for Arkansas on Thursday, and scored 243.30 to place 23rd.
"Kesha struggled today," Schultz said. "She looked great in warm-ups, but we know that her best two events are coming up."
The events Schultz referred to are the three-meter, which takes place Friday, March 9, and the platform, which will happen Saturday, March 10. Senior diver Liana Bugslag will compete alongside House and Naylor beginning tomorrow.
