FAYETTEVILLE – In her final run of the 2012 Olympics, former Razorback Veronica Campbell-Brown earned a silver medal as a member of Jamaica’s 4x100-meter relay team. Campbell-Brown and her teammates established a Jamaican national record with a time of 41.41, eclipsing the previous mark of 41.70 set at the 2011 World Championships. In other relay action Friday, current Razorback student-athlete Regina George helped Nigeria qualify for the final of the 4x400-meter relay.

Campbell-Brown ran the third leg of the 4x100-meter relay for her native Jamaica. The silver medal is her second of the 2012 Olympics, having won bronze at 100 meters, and the seventh of her career overall. Campbell-Brown now owns three Olympic relay medals with Jamaica. She was joined on Friday’s relay by Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Sherone Simpson and Kerron Stewart.

Running in the first of two heats in the qualifying round of the 4x400-meter relay, Nigeria posted a time of 3:26.29 to qualify for the event final. George ran the anchor leg. The foursome of George, Omolara Omotosho, Idara Otu and Bukola Abogunloko finished fourth in the heat and secured the final at-large spot to advance to the championship race. The final of the 4x400-meter relay is scheduled for Saturday at 2:25 p.m. (CT).
