FAYETTEVILLE - In celebrating the successes of Razorback athletics, the University of Arkansas women's track and field team has been recognized twice this season during halftime ceremonies at football games.
During the Arkansas-Alabama game on Sept. 15, the Razorback Olympians were recognized on the field. Regina George, Ivanique Kemp and Tina Sutej were in attendance as part of the ceremony. George (400m) and Kemp (100mH) advanced to the semifinal round of their respective events, while Sutej competed in the pole vault. George was also part of Nigeria's 4x400-meter relay team.
Most recently, the Razorback indoor track and field team was honored at halftime of the Arkansas-Rutgers game on Sept. 22. Arkansas finished in fifth place at the 2012 NCAA Indoor Championships in Nampa, Idaho. It was the Razorbacks' second straight top-five national indoor finish. The team was fourth in 2011.
