No. 7 Razorbacks Collect 16 All-Americans

EUGENE, Ore. – The No. 7 University of Arkansas women’s track and field team collected 16 All-American honors and three honorable mentions at the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore. The Razorbacks finished ninth with 21.5 points.

Grace Heymsfield and Jessica Kamilos earned first-team All-American honors after a record-breaking performance in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Heymsfield finished sixth surpassing her own school record with a time of 9:49.01. Kamilos also surpassed the school record with a time of 9:49.25, becoming the second Razorback in school history to run a sub-ten minute steeplechase, alongside teammate Heymsfield.

Dominique Scott also earned first-team status with a sixth-place finish in the 5,000-meter, while senior Stephanie Brown picked up the eighth All-American honor of her career in the 1,500-meter. Sandi Morris, Ariel Voskamp and Danielle Nowell were three of four Razorbacks competing for the pole vault title, collecting 9.5 points for Arkansas at the NCAA Championships and earning first-team All-American honors. The 4x400-meter relay team of Taylor Ellis-Watson, Daina Harper, Chrishuna Williams and Regine Williams were also first-team All-America honorees.

In addition, the Razorbacks earned five second-team honorees in Ellis-Watson (400m), Alex Gochenour (hepathlon), Kirsten Hesseltine (high jump) and Tamara Myers (long jump, triple jump). Honorable mention honors included: Amethyst Boyd (javelin), Diane Robison (5000m) and Megan Zimlich (pole vault).
