MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Arkansas men's tennis team opened day one at the ITA Central Regional Championships at the Baseline Tennis Center at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
In the round of 64, senior Gregoire Lehmann took down Iowa's Garrett Dunn 7-5, 6-3. Junior Mike Nott also collected his first victory of the Central Regionals with a win over Bradley's Ahmed Albitar 6-4, 6-4.
Junior Hall Fess dropped a tough three-set match to Minnesota's Brendan Ruddock 6-2, 4-6, 6-4. Junior Manfred Jeske also fell to a solid Oklahoma opponent in Axel Alverez 6-2, 6-4.
The Razorbacks played two tough doubles matches in the round of 32. The duo of Lehmann took down a strong Nebraska team of Sock and Videtich. Partners Jeske and Nott put up a strong performance in a heartbreaking loss to Nebraska's Stenger and Zitsch 9-8 (6).
