AUBURN, Ala. – While the distance crew was in Walnut, Calif. for the Mt. SAC Relays, the sprinters and field athletes were competing at the War Eagle Invitational at Auburn University on Saturday. The action was originally scheduled for Friday, but due to inclement weather was postponed to Saturday.

Freshman sprinter Regine Williams had a successful weekend, finishing in the top three in all three events she competed in. Williams placed third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11:54, followed by a third-place finish in the 200-meter in 23.45. Williams ran the second leg of the 4x100-meter relay team of Chrishuna Williams, Daina Harper and Shekara Boakye, earning a third-place time of 45.56. Williams has recorded top-eight performances in each outdoor competition so far this season.

C. Williams won the 400-meter dash for the Razorbacks with a time of 52.78, followed by Harper with a second-place finishing time of 54.29. Brianna Swinton earned the team’s third top-five finish in the event with a fourth-place time of 54.72.

Arkansas also saw a 1-2 finish in pole vault, with Danielle Nowell’s mark of 13-7.25 taking the top-place finish, while Ariel Voskamp came in second with an identical mark of 13-7.25. Megan Zimlich and Sandi Morris both recorded 12-11.5 to finish in sixth and eighth place, respectively.

After running her first collegiate 100-meter dash, Tamara Myers placed fourth in long jump at 19-6.25. Also in field event action, Amethyst Boyd’s javelin mark of 142-4 earned her a second-place finish.

Next week, the No. 8 Razorbacks will hit the road again, splitting between the Drake Relays and Penn Relays. For more information on Razorback Track and Field, follow @RazorbackTF on Twitter.
