FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas softball coach Mike Larabee announced the fall schedule for the upcoming 2012-13 season. The Razorbacks have six games in Fayetteville and two games at Oklahoma State this coming autumn.

“I am really excited about our fall schedule this year,” Larabee said. “The fall is a very important time, from the standpoint that we have a fresh beginning and everyone has a chance to play. It gives us a great chance to prepare for the spring time.”

The Razorbacks kick off their schedule as host to Evangel on Sept. 28 at 3 p.m. and Marion Military Institute, the following day, Sept. 29 at 1 p.m.

“Evangel University is an NAIA program that is very solid,” Larabee said. “We are going to face some very good junior college programs with this schedule.”

Arkansas will then play a weekday doubleheader vs. Butler Community College on Wednesday, Oct. 3. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m.

After their fourth home game of the fall schedule the Razorbacks travel to Oklahoma State to face the Cowgirls in a doubleheader on Sunday, Oct. 7. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.

“To have the opportunity to go over to Stillwater is great,” Larabee said. “Two years ago they were in the (Women’s College) World Series. That will be a great opponent early in the season.”

Concluding the fall schedule will be a home doubleheader vs. Northeastern Oklahoma A&M on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 3 p.m.
