FAYETTEVILLE – The No. 24 University of Arkansas softball team split a pair of games Saturday at the Wooo Pig Fastpitch Classic at Bogle Park. The Razorbacks opened the day with a 9-1 win over Louisiana Tech before losing to Drake, 7-4, in the weekend’s championship game. With Saturday’s results, Arkansas carries a 15-5 overall record through its first 20 games of the season.

The Razorbacks continue their home stand Wednesday against defending national champion and 13th-ranked Oklahoma. First pitch of the midweek matchup is scheduled for 5 p.m. (CT) at Bogle Park. Fans with a ticket to Wednesday night’s men’s basketball game will receive free admission.

GAME 1 vs. Louisiana Tech
Arkansas turned a one-run advantage into a 7-1 lead after scoring five runs on six hits—all singles—in the fifth inning. Clarisa Navarro and Jayme Gee plated two runs each in the frame with a pair of two-RBI base hits. The Razorbacks used a two-out rally in the bottom of the sixth to end the game when Navarro scored from third on a fielding error by Louisiana Tech. The win was Arkansas’ 10th by way of the run rule.

In her first appearance in the circle since the season opener Feb. 7, Kasey Fagan allowed just five hits and only walked on in a six-inning complete game. The win was also the first of her Razorback career. Fagan’s performance was the 10th complete game of the season by a Razorback pitcher.

GAME 2 vs. Drake
Arkansas erased an early deficit with a four-run second inning, capped by a three-run shot to center field off the bat of Jennifer Rambo. It was her second long ball of the weekend which pushed her career total to 18 home runs. Parker Pocklington started the team’s scoring with a single up the middle to score Navarro from third. The Razorbacks managed just three more hits over the final five innings.

With the score tied at four, Drake took advantage of three defensive miscues in the sixth to score the go-ahead runs. The visitors added an insurance run in their half of the seventh inning. Rambo led the team with two hits and three RBI which pushed her season total to 10.
