Walters was named team captain for the 2011-12 season.
AS A JUNIOR (2010-11): Walters was the solid No. 5 and 6 player for the Razorbacks. He tallied eight wins overall and seven came in dual play alone. Early in the spring season, Walters won six of his first nine matches. The string of victories came against opponents from Army, SMU, Iowa, Santa Clara, Oklahoma, and Tulsa. In doubles, Walters served up a .500 record going 11-11 while teaming up with Hall Fess, Matt Hogan, Gregoire Lehmann, Chris Nott and Mike Ward throughout the season. Most of his time was split between Hogan and Nott with five of his wins coming with Hogan and two coming with Nott.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2009-10): Walters began his sophomore year with three consecutive wins in the fall. In doubles play, Walters collected three doubles wins with partners Hogan and Dmitry Lebedev. Wins with Hogan include a doubles win over a No. 53-ranked Virginia Tech duo. Walters had a spectacular winning streak in the spring, as he defeated seven straight opponents in a row. Walters and Matt Hogan started their doubles season with a win and followed it with a five game winning streak. Walters also paired with Dmitry Lebedev for two more wins in the spring. Walters completed the season with an overall singles record of 13-11 and a doubles record of 14-12.
AS A FRESHMAN (2008-09): In his first fall season as a Razorback, Walters opened the season with a win at the Navy Invitational, defeating Zach Nicholson 7-5, 6-4. At the ITA Central Region Championships, Walters tallied two victories over St. Louis University's Bryan Beasley and Tulsa's Rusty Turpin. He finished the season with a record of 7-4. In doubles, Walters tallied three wins for the Razorbacks, partnering with King, Smith, and Lebedev to the end the season with a 3-2 record. Walters made two appearances in his first dual season with the Razorbacks. He posted consecutive wins for the Razorbacks at the No. 5 position against opponents from Cowley College CC and Oral Roberts University. He ended the season with a 2-0 record.
HIGH SCHOOL: Walters played tennis and basketball during his four years at Valley View High School. He was named all-state in tennis from 2005-08. During his four years of tennis, Walters was state champion each year and reached the No. 5 ranking in the South Region. As a senior, Walters was named all-conference and all-state in basketball. Not only successful on the court, Walters graduated with honors and was a member of the National Honors Society.
PERSONAL: Walters was born on Oct. 30, 1989, in Jonesboro, Ark., to Tim and Linda Walters. He has a sister, Katie.
