PINEHURST, N.C. –Five current and future University of Arkansas women’s golfers continued play Wednesday at the 110th Women’s North & South Amateur in Pinehurst, N.C.
Incoming freshman Gabriela Lopez and Regina Plasencia along with junior-to-be Emma Lavy are currently inside the cut in the second round of three rounds of stroke play.
Lopez is currently tied for 12th overall and in the clubhouse with a 147 with rounds of 73-74. Plasencia is tied for 17th overall with a 148 shooting back-to-back 74s. Both Lopez and Plasencia are incoming freshman from Mexico.
Lavy, a Fayetteville, Ark., native, is inside the projected cut tied for 24th overall shooting 149 with rounds of 75-74.
Younger sister Olivia Lavy is currently tied for 67th overall shooting a 160 (79-81) and senior-to-be Meagan Roberts is close behind with a 161 (75-86).
Former Razorback Corinna Rees is also competing and is just outside the projected cut as well with a two-round 159 (81-78).
Players compete in three rounds of stroke play followed by four rounds of match play to determine the champion. The 117 player field will be cut to the low 60 and ties following the second round and the top 16 players move on to match play.
