Tubert has a 3.80 grade point average in broadcast journalism at Arkansas and is also a first-team All-American and All-Southeastern Conference selection.
“I’m very proud of Emily for her selection,” said Arkansas head coach
Shauna Estes-Taylor. “She works hard in the classroom and on the golf course and that commitment is evident in everything she does.”
Tubert, a Burbank, Calif., native, is currently in Scotland representing Team USA at the 2012 Curtis Cup Match. Her selection to the Curtis Cup highlights a solid second season of collegiate golf for the Razorback.
Tubert opened with ties for 16th and 15th place, respectively, and then shot closer to the top of the leaderboard tying for seventh at the Mercedes-Benz SEC/Pac 12 Challenge. Tubert shot back to back 217s (Lady Tar Heel and the Mercedes) and played three of the four fall events at six over for nine rounds.
Tubert missed the final fall event representing Team USA and helping them to a gold medal at The Spirit International in Trinity, Texas. She returned to the Razorback lineup shooting her way to a second-place finish with a one-under 215 at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic kicking off the spring.
Tubert picked up a tie for fourth and a tie for third at the SunTrust Invitational and the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic, respectively. She posted a season-best 210 (72-70-68) at the SunTrust and shot a five-under 211 (72-70-69) at Liz. Tubert earned her second SEC First-Team honor this year.
Tubert rallied big in the final round of the NCAA Central Regional Championship, turning at five-under with a pair of eagles in the first nine holes. Her 68 on day three was crucial for the Razorbacks as they moved on after a one-stroke edge over the number nine team.
The Razorbacks moved on to the NCAA Championship for the second consecutive season where Tubert fought her way to a tie for 33rd overall with a 296 including an even par 72 in the final round in tough conditions.
In the classroom, Tubert has done well earning selection to the Arkansas Athletic Department Honor Roll three semesters, the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll twice and was selected to the 2011 National Golf Coaches Association All-Scholar Team (the 2012 team will be announced later this year).
Tubert joins former Razorback
Stacy Lewis who was a two-time academic All-American at Arkansas. She is also one of two Razorbacks selected this year, joining All-American gymnast
Jaime Pisani on the third team.
