COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Underclassmen Shannon Hudson, Oleksandra Shkorupeieva and Brittany Huxley finished with early leads over formidable foes, but the No. 39 University of Arkansas women's tennis team fell 4-0 to No. 7 Texas A&M in College Station, Texas, on Friday night.

Despite Hudson, Shkorupeieva and Huxley each rising to the competition and taking first set leads in their respective singles matches, the Aggies (10-3, 4-1 SEC) claimed the doubles point and then three straight singles victories to lock up a 4-0 win. The underclassmen of the Razorbacks (7-9, 0-5 SEC) were the silver lining of the day and showed no signs of backing down, including freshmen Hudson and Shkorupeieva leading national runner-ups from last year in No. 56 Saska Gavrilovska and Stefania Hristov.

Earlier in the day, Arkansas also swept a double header and earned a pair of victories against Prarie View A&M. The Razorbacks earned a 4-1 victory to open the day, then followed with up with a 5-0 victory. Both matches used the 4-1 format, which entails four singles and one doubles match with each match counting for one team point.

The Razorbacks head next to Columbia, Mo., for a match with Missouri at noon on Sunday.
