OUTLOOK: Barnett had a tough spring missing time at the beginning due to family reasons. Upon his return, he was having a great scrimmage (nine carries, 78 yards), but then suffered a broken leg that kept him out the remainder of the workouts. He is on target for a return from the injury and provides depth to the unit this fall. 

2008: Barnett played in six games in 2008 (Alabama, Texas, Tulsa, South Carolina, Mississippi State and LSU). He ranked fourth on the team in rushing yards with 12 carries for 61 yards and one touchdown. He also had one reception for nine yards. He had seven carries for a season-high 45 yards against South Carolina. His season-long run of 23 yards came against the Gamecocks and he scored on a one-yard run in the fourth quarter of the game in Columbia. He ran the ball three time for 16 yards in the season finale against LSU.

2007: He saw action in eight games and rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries. He had a long gain of 36 yards and averaged 5.7 yards per carry. - Playing only on special teams prior to the North Texas game, Barnett showed flashes of power and speed against the Mean Green. In his running back debut, he totaled 105 yards on 16 carries and a rushing touchdown. He took over for Darren McFadden and Felix Jones late in the third quarter and had seven carries of five yards or more. His longest carries included runs of 11, 23 and 36 yards (for a TD). He logged time at running back against Chattanooga, gaining 16 yards on seven carries with a long of eight yards. He did not play against Auburn. Barnett had one carry for 15 yards against Ole Miss. His run was good for a first down as the final seconds of the game ticked off the clock. He did not play against FIU or South Carolina. Against Tennessee, Barnett did not record any yards rushing but did return a kickoff for 11 yards. He did not play against Mississippi State or LSU. He played in the Cotton Bowl against Missouri, but had no rushing attempts. He had two tackles for the season, both special teams assisted stops against Troy in the opener.

PRIOR TO ARKANSAS: He redshirted his first year at Butler County CC, but helped lead Coach Troy Morrell’s team to Jayhawk Conference and Region IV championships in 2006 by rushing for 1,056 yards and 14 touchdowns on 148 carries. He also had six receptions for 50 yards. Rivals ranked him as the No. 82 junior college prospect in the nation. At Arkansas High, he was a three-year starter and earned all-state and all-conference honors as a senior for Coach Bill Keopple, a former Arkansas assistant (1998-99). He missed almost three full games with an ankle injury, but led his team with 1,289 yards and 11 touchdowns on 120 carries for an average of 10.7 yards per carry. He also had two interceptions on defense. He ran for 1,015 yards and 17 touchdowns, and had 304 receiving yards with three scores as a junior. He returned three kicks for touchdowns with an average of 34.6 yards per return. Barnett ran a state-best time of 10.43 in the 100 meters as a junior and won the state title. He played in the Max Emfinger All-American All-Star Game in Shreveport, La. Rivals ranked him as the No. 5 player in the state and the No. 11 all-purpose back in the country. He recorded a 450-pound squat lift and a 315-pound bench press in high school. He was the MVP in the 2005 Arkansas High School All-Star Game at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium on June 24, 2005, after rushing for 95 yards and three TDs. He also had three receptions for 31 yards in leading his team to a 28-13 victory. Out of high school, he was also recruited by Houston, Florida, Arizona and Louisiana-Monroe.

PERSONAL: Born May 5, 1989, he is the son of Carol Larry. He is majoring in sociology.
