OUTLOOK: He earned his first letter last year as a linebacker, but was moved to running back in the spring to give the Razorbacks a bigger option in the backfield. Gregory was slowed during the spring by an injury, but had six carries for 11 yards in the Red-White Spring Game. In addition to taking snaps in the backfield, he could also be used on special teams.

2007: A backup linebacker and member of the special teams, he played in 12 games. The Cotton Bowl is the only contest in which he did not play. He had one tackle, an assisted stop, for the season. – In addition to his special teams duties, he saw one play on defense against Kentucky, three against North Texas and one against Chattanooga. His tackle came on special teams against Chattanooga.

2006: He was expected to compete for playing time as a reserve, but an unusual accident in practice and the ensuing injury slowed his progress early in pre-season camp. Gregory dislocated his left shoulder while participating in a drill with a blocking sled. Following his recovery, UA coaches decided to preserve his redshirt season. He worked with the scout team defense.

HIGH SCHOOL CAREER: He earned third-team 2005 pre-season All-Texas honors from Dave Campbell’s Texas Football prior to his senior season. He led the Stars to a 12-1 record and the TAPPS state championship. In the 27-20 win over Cedar Hill (Texas) Trinity Christian, he tallied two interceptions and one touchdown. He rushed 35 times for 503 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior. He also hauled in 13 catches for 274 yards and four scores. He finished third on his team in scoring with 66 points. As a junior, he spent time at free safety and cornerback on defense, wide receiver on offense and logged extensive time on special teams. He made 70 tackles and three interceptions on his way to all-state honors. Offensively, he tallied 287 yards and three touchdowns on 36 carries. He also had 201 yards and three touchdowns on 16 receptions. He helped lead his team to a 9-3 record and a berth in the state semifinals. He attended Plano (Texas) East High School as a freshman before transferring to Carrollton (Texas) American Heritage Academy and playing for Coach Bob Giesey. The Dallas Morning News ranked him as the No. 40 player on its all-area team and the No. 91 overall prospect in the state. Rivals ranked him as the No. 58 athlete in the nation. The same outlet also ranked him as the No. 91 prospect in Texas. He was named all-district in basketball as a junior after averaging 16.2 points per game. He earned all-state honors in track and field as a member of the 4x400-meter relay team. He posted a 39-inch vertical leap and squated 500 pounds. He was also recruited by Arizona, Kansas State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State and Texas A&M.

PERSONAL: Born Nov. 25, 1987, he is the son of Chip Sr. and Gwendolyn Arnold. He is majoring in kinesiology.
