Additional Security Measures Employed for UA Football Games

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.In light of recent security issues at various college football stadiums around the nation, the University of Arkansas Athletic Department in conjunction with the University of Arkansas Police Department (UAPD) has enacted additional security measures for football games at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

As always, bags, large purses (larger than 8 1/2 x 11), backpacks, coolers, umbrellas and video cameras WILL NOT be allowed in the stadium. Other items not allowed include alcoholic beverages, bottles, cans, thermoses, chairbacks larger than a single seat, ice bags, ice chests, laser pointers, outside food and drink and artificial noisemakers.

Previously fans were permitted to check impermissible items at the Guest Services. However, beginning with this weekend’s game, fans will be required to return impermissible items to their vehicle before gaining entrance to the stadium. No exceptions will be made to this policy.

In addition, UAPD Major Steve Gahagans announced that the UAPD and its assisting agencies will increase security in and around Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium on game day. The UAPD and Athletic Department appreciate your cooperation in helping ensure that Razorback game day is a safe and enjoyable experience.
