Allison on All-Star team

FAYETTEVILLE – Senior Whitney Allison, a future University of Arkansas Lady Razorback soccer player, is preparing to participate in her final outing as a Conway High School Wampus Cat on Tuesday evening when she dons the uniform for the East All-Stars in a contest that showcases the state’s top athletes.

The East and West Girl’s Soccer All-Stars meet at Lady’Back Field on Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m. followed by the boys at 8:00 p.m. The game is a part of All-Star week on the University campus which includes volleyball, football, soccer, basketball, baseball and softball.

Allison signed a national letter of intent to play for Arkansas in February and is part of what is perhaps the best recruiting class ever for the Lady Razorbacks. A proven goal scorer, Allison should see time as a forward for the Lady Razorbacks this fall. She holds the Conway High School record for most goals scored, tallying 42 entering her senior season including 21 as a junior. A three-time all-state selection, Allison led both Conway and the Little Rock Futbol ’87 club team in scoring in each of the past three seasons while also maintaining a 3.5 grade point average.

“First of all, this is a great honor for Whitney,” Arkansas head soccer coach Gordon Henderson said. “It is a way for her and all the all-stars to showcase their talents at Lady’Back Field which is one of the best in the state. I hope that each of these players enjoys the game since it is a wonderful way for some of them to finish off their high school careers. It will be nice to watch Whitney play one more time before she arrives at the University this fall and should be great for those in attendance who saw her play for years.”

Tickets for all the all-star contests are available at the door to their respective matches. For more information about Lady Razorback soccer or about Arkansas women’s athletics, visit www.ladybacks.com.
