University of Arkansas head men’s basketball coach Mike Anderson met with the media on Thursday to discuss the Razorbacks upcoming trip to Italy and the first full week of practice. “We are getting ready to take off and fly to Italy tomorrow,” Anderson said. “I think our guys are very excited. They worked throughout the summer between the weights and individual workouts. Leading up to this trip we had the opportunity to practice with them.” Anderson said that during the first eight days of practice he has noticed there are a lot more options for the team and a lot more depth. Anderson also spoke about the high basketball IQ of his team and his expectations for the team during the trip. “This is kind of a rare and once in a lifetime opportunity for some of these guys,” he said. “Can you imagine you’re a freshman coming in and your first trip is to Italy? I mean that’d be pretty cool for anybody.” The Razorbacks will leave for Italy on tomorrow and return to Arkansas on August 19.
