Anderson to throw out first pitch

FAYETTEVILLE – University of Arkansas head men’s basketball coach Mike Anderson will throw out the first pitch of the Razorback baseball game on Saturday, March 26. The No. 12 baseball Razorbacks host the No. 2 Vanderbilt Commodores at Baum Stadium in a contest slated for 2:05 p.m.

Anderson was announced as Arkansas’ 12th head men’s basketball coach on March 23 and will have a full day on Saturday as he will be introduced to the fans and media in a public ceremony at Bud Walton Arena at 10:30 a.m. Doors for the public open at 10 a.m.

A head coach for the past nine years at Alabama-Birmingham and Missouri, he has guided his teams to the post season seven times including six NCAA Tournament runs. He owns a combined record of 200-98 (.671) as a head coach and has led both UAB and Missouri to the NCAA Tournament’s Sweet 16. Prior to taking over his own program, Anderson was a longtime assistant coach at Arkansas spending 17 years with the Razorbacks including the 1994 National Championship season and 1995 national runner-up campaign.
