FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – For the second-consecutive year, Arkansas junior offensive tackle Shawn Andrews has been named to the American Football Coaches’ Association (AFCA) All-America team. The 25-man team was announced on Thursday.
Andrews joins Oklahoma defensive tackle Tommie Harris as the only players on this year’s squad to earn back-to-back All-America accolades from the organization.
Andrews has already been tabbed as a finalist for both the Outland Trophy and the Lombardi Award. He has also earned first-team All-America honors from the Football Writers’ Association of America (FWAA). He is the first Razorback to garner back-to-back All-America honors since Billy Ray Smith Jr., in 1981-82.
The Camden, Ark., native has racked up a team-high 85 knockdowns this season. He has helped pave the way for the Hogs’ SEC-leading 237.1 yards per game on the ground. Arkansas ranks sixth in the nation in rushing offense.
