AP VOTER UPDATE — Arkansas goes 2-0 for the week

A quick note for your late night voting as Arkansas scores some historic wins this week:

The Lady’Backs now sweep the state of Alabama for the first time since 1998.

Arkansas wins only its second game ever at Gainesville on Sunday.

Lauren Ervin becomes the first SEC player to pull down 20 rebounds in a game this year, and crushes the UA record for a SEC game (16, set back in 1993). Ervin’s 20 is a career high at Arkansas, and gives her the school records for SEC games for total rebounds (20), offensive (7), defensive (13) and in a half (20).

By the way, only eight other performances by six other women this year in Division I have bettered 20 rebounds. It’s two off the UA all-time record, and is the second most ever at Arkansas.

That comes on the heels of Ervin scoring a career high 20 points in the win over Alabama on Thursday, and a week after she set the UA mark for SEC play with 9-of-9 from the field and a then career high 19 at Auburn. For those scoring at home, that’s nine double-doubles for Ervin.

Ervin wasn’t alone in breaking records or setting career highs. Arkansas’ high-powered point guard, Brittney Vaughn, broke the school mark for steals in a SEC game with eight against Alabama. She also had 17 points — a career high. The eight steals tied the all-time Walton Arena record, and tied the junior class record.
