FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Through the completion of all winter sports, the University of Arkansas is No. 17 nationally in the latest Division I Sears Directors’ Cup standings.
The Sears Directors’ Cup program, which began in 1993-94, honors institutions maintaining a broad-based program.
Points are awarded based on national finish in each sport. Through April 12, points had been awarded for football, basketball, cross country, fencing, field hockey, gymnastics, hockey, rifle, skiing, soccer, swimming, indoor track and field, volleyball, wrestling and water polo.
Arkansas has accumulated 394 points with 100 for men’s cross country, 83 for men’s indoor track and field, 79 for women’s indoor track and field, 47 for women’s cross country, 30 for women’s basketball and women’s swimming, and 25 for men’s basketball.
