Arkansas Accepts Bid To Play Minnesota In Musi

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Following a 9-4 regular season and an appearance in the Southeastern Conference Championship game the Arkansas Razorbacks will make its first trip to Nashville, Tenn., for the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl on Monday, Dec. 30.
Arkansas will face the Minnesota Golden Gophers of the Big 10 Conference at 1 p.m. at The Coliseum. The game will be nationally televised by ESPN. Minnesota enters the bowl game with a 7-5 overall record and a 3-5 mark in the Big 10.
“We are excited about the opportunity to go to Nashville and play in our first Music City Bowl,” Arkansas head coach Houston Nutt said. “We are looking forward to playing Minnesota. They have had a great year and we’re excited about the challenge of playing a Big 10 team.”
With the trip to the Music City Bowl, the Razorbacks have appeared in a bowl game in five consecutive years under Nutt. The Hogs earned a trip to the Citrus Bowl in 1998, the Cotton Bowl in 1999 and 2001 and the Las Vegas Bowl in 2000.
Arkansas is the only SEC Western Division team to appear in a bowl the last five seasons. The Music City Bowl marks the 33rd bowl appearance by the Razorbacks. Arkansas has a 10-19-3 all-time bowl record in its previous 32 appearances.
Tickets for the Music City Bowl go on sale Monday, Dec. 9, at 8:30 a.m. Tickets will be $45 apiece and can be ordered by phone or through the Arkansas Athletics Website. Student tickets will go on sale Friday, Dec. 13, at 8:30 a.m. and will also be $45 apiece.
