Arkansas and Tulsa Serve Them Up Again
BY ANDRES FOCIL
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – On Tuesday the Arkansas Razorbacks will face a familiar opponent in the Tulsa Golden Hurricane when the Hogs travel to the University of Tulsa.
The Razorbacks will be diving back into non-conference opponents after playing their first SEC match against the Commodores on Sunday. The match places two teams very familiar with each other on the same court once again.
“We have seen them several times this year, so we know what they are capable of doing,” Cox said. “We just have to go out there and be ready to be on our game. It won’t be an easy match, but hopefully we can come back to Fayetteville with a win.”
Arkansas holds an eleven consecutive match winning streak against the Golden Hurricane dating back to 1985, and will strive to make it twelve with solid singles play from Matt Roberts and Rohan Gajjar, who are both 6-0 in this Spring.
“Singles play has been great, but we still have to work on our doubles.” Cox said. “We are still not pleased with the results in doubles, but we are improving.”
Tulsa has the No. 19 ranked doubles team in the nation with Ryan Livesay and Dustin Taylor teaming together, and in singles play No. 43 Alejandro Tejerina has been a formidable opponent for most teams this year.
Match time against the No. 51 ranked Golden Hurricane is 6 PM at Micheal D. Case Tennis Center.
