Arkansas Back In Action At Jerry Pate Intercollegiate

Round 1 Pairings | Live Scoring

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – After a victory and runner-up finish in its last two events, the 16th-ranked Arkansas men’s golf team returns to the course on Monday, traveling to Alabama to compete in the Jerry Pate Intercollegiate.

The 54-hole event will be played at the Tom Fazio & Jerry Pate designed Old Overton Country Club, a par 70, 7,209-yard layout that was voted “Best New Private Course” in America by Golf Digest. Teams will play 36 holes on Monday, Oct. 9, before coming back for the final round on Tuesday, Oct. 10. Live scoring is available at Golfstat.com or via the Golfstat Live app.

The 12-team field features four schools from the Southeastern Conference, five programs ranked in the Bushnell Golfweek Top 25 Poll and two more teams receiving votes in the national ranking. The Razorbacks are making their fifth consecutive appearance at the event after finishing sixth last fall.

After a victory at the Gopher Invitational last month, Arkansas is eyeing multiple wins in a season for the second straight year and the sixth time in the last eight seasons.

The Razorbacks will send two of the top 30 collegiate players in the country to the course this week as senior Alvaro Ortiz and sophomore Mason Overstreet sit atop the Arkansas lineup. Ortiz ranks T-26th in the nation in scoring average at 69.1, while Overstreet is just one stroke behind his teammate and ranked T-29th at 69.2. The duo has combined to shoot 39-under par through the first three events of the year.

Arkansas will tee off Monday morning 7:30 a.m. CT, playing alongside No. 4 Alabama and No. 7 Baylor.
