Arkansas Completes Day Two At SMU Invitational

DALLAS – Arkansas women’s tennis completed day two of singles and doubles action at the SMU Invitational Saturday.

In doubles play, Mia Jurasic and Nicole Breaux fell to TCU’s Maria King and Olaya Garrido-Rivas, 6-2.

Arkansas then turned its attention to singles action. In the second round of the Mustang Draw, Louisiana Tech’s Jazmin Britos defeated Jurasic in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4.

In consolation play, Nada Marjanovic of Abilene Christian edged out Breaux, 6-4, 6-7 (6), 6-3 in the Black Draw while Peyton Jennings claimed a victory over Lauren Pineda (Unattached), 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, in the Pony Draw.

“We had some long matches out there today, and we learned plenty throughout the course of the day,” assistant coach Luc Godin said. “We hope to use these lessons during tomorrow’s matches.”

The Razorbacks return to action tomorrow for their final day of competition in Dallas.
