Arkansas Divers Wrap Up Zone Competition

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Three Arkansas divers wrapped up competition on Wednesday at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships at the Mizzou Aquatic Center.

Junior Nicole Gillis led the way, as she has done all week, with a 13th place finish in the platform finals, scoring a 10-dive total of 450.60. Gillis advanced to the finals on a five-dive score of 227.75, the second best on the team this season. The Johannesburg, South Africa, native now owns four of the top-five platform dives on the team this season. Gillis’ five-dive final score of 222.85 is the fourth best this season. Earlier in the week, Gillis qualified for the NCAA Championships on the 1m and 3m springboards.

Sophomore Marissa Green finished 20th with a personal best 200.75, as sophomore Molly Harvie followed right behind in 21st with a score of 199.20.

Up next for the Razorbacks is the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana from March 15-18. A total of 322 participants (281 swimmers and 41 divers) will compete in the NCAA Championships. Three Arkansas swimmers have received invites to the championships, as Mary Margaret Soderberg (200 IM, 100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke), Chelsea Tatlow (200 IM, 100 backstroke and 200 butterfly) and Ayumi Macias (200, 500 and 1650 freestyle) will all travel to Indianapolis to compete. ESPN3.com will stream the championships finals sessions live on Friday and Saturday. Wednesday’s evening session, Thursday’s sessions along with the morning sessions on Friday and Saturday will be streamed live on NCAA.com and www.indianasportscorp.org/ncaasd. Additionally, ESPNU will air a two-hour broadcast via tape delay at 7 p.m. Eastern time, Tuesday, March 28. Live results for the championships will be available on NCAA.com.
