Arkansas Falls In Main Draw

TULSA, Okla. – Competing in the main draw at the ITA All-American Thursday, Arkansas’ senior doubles team of Oscar Mesquida and Adam Sanjurjo fell in the first round of the doubles draw.
Mesquida and Sanjurjo, ranked the No. 14 doubles team in the country, took the first set 6-3 against the 27th-ranked Kawika Lam and Enzo Sommer of Washington. The Huskies took the second set 3-6.
The Razorbacks battled in the third set after Washington jumped out to a 7-4 lead, cutting into the lead to 7-6 before Lam/Sommer scored the final three points of the set to take the match, 6-3, 3-6, 6-10.
The Arkansas men’s tennis team will return to Tulsa in two weeks for the ITA Regional Championships (Oct. 18-21).
