Arkansas Fills Open Fall Exhibition Date With Little Rock

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – After troubling weather forecasts forced a cancellation of Arkansas Baseball’s fall exhibition with Oklahoma last week, the Razorbacks will replace that game with a scrimmage in the capital city when they take on the Little Rock Trojans on Friday, Oct. 12 at Gary Hogan Field.

First pitch with the Trojans is set for 4:30 p.m. and will not count toward the team’s 56-game regular season schedule due to the rule changes announced by the NCAA last spring.

2018 Fall Exhibition Schedule
Oct. 5 – vs. Wichita State (6 p.m.)
Oct. 12 – at Little Rock (4:30 p.m.)

Due to the anticipated high interest in the game, ticket information, as well as game day policies and guidelines, will be announced by the Little Rock Athletics Department in the coming days.

Media space will be limited and granted on a first come, first served basis by contacting Rand Champion at rdchampion@ualr.edu.

Arkansas announced in August that it would face Little Rock in a single midweek game during the 2019 regular season, the first meeting between the two programs in their histories. The Trojans are coached by former Arkansas assistant Chris Curry, who is entering his fifth season at the helm of the Little Rock program and won 28 games a year ago.

The Razorbacks are still scheduled to face Wichita State next week (Oct. 5) inside Baum Stadium with first pitch set for 6 p.m. Admission to the game is free, but fans are encouraged  to bring non-perishable food items and new or gently used coats to benefit the Salvation Army and the Jane B. Gearhart Full Circle Campus Food Pantry, who will be collecting these items at the stadium gates.

All Razorback fall practices through the month of September and October at Baum Stadium are open to the public. The dates for the annual Fall World Series will be announced at a later time.
