Arkansas Golfers Shoot Even Par at the Hall of

HUMBLE, Texas – The Arkansas men’s golf team shot a even-par 288 on Saturday in the second round of the Hall of Fame Invitational at the Redstone Golf Club to move into 14th place.
“We played much better today after a rough day on Friday,” Arkansas Head Coach Mike Ketchum said. “We came out today and played with a lot of pride.”
Sophomore Matt Bortis carded a four-under-par 68 to pace the Razorbacks and move into a tie for 23rd place on Saturday. Bortis’ 68 tied his low round of the 2005 season.
“Matt Bortis really played well today,” Ketchum said. “He came out and did everything well in round two. Now we need to go out on Sunday as a team and put a good number up.”
Scotty Campbell shot a one-over-par 73 on Saturday for a two-round total of 145. He is tied with Bortis for the teams top score heading into tomorrow’s final round.
Oklahoma State moved into the overall lead on Saturday with an 18-under-par 270 for a two-round total of 562. UNLV sits one shot back at 563 with TCU in third at 574.
UNLV’s Ryan Moore moved into first place on the individual leader board on Saturday with a four-under-par 68 and sits at six-under-par (138) for the tournament. OSU’s Tyler Leon broke the tournament scoring record with an eight-under-par 64 in Saturday’s second round. Leon is tied for second heading into the final round.
Arkansas Freshmen Eric Shriver shot a two-over-par 74 and is tied for 84th overall at 156 after two rounds. Will Osborne carded a 77 on Saturday.
