FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The No. 1 Arkansas women’s track and field team will host its final meet of the regular season, the Arkansas Twilight, on Friday, May 6 at John McDonnell Field.
Arkansas will go head-to-head against No. 18 Oklahoma State as well as regional programs Arkansas Baptist and Tulsa.
The meet will also feature several top unattached competitors from around the world.
Events to watch
The leading Southeastern Conference performer in the 400-meter dash, Taylor Ellis-Watson, will challenge newly-minted professional sprinter Khalifa St. Fort of Trinidad & Tobago in the 100.
The race will also feature Arkansas freshman Kiara Parker, whom along with Ellis-Watson, could be drawn out to a new personal best by St. Fort who holds a PR in the event of 11.19 seconds.
Another promising matchup will take place during the 800 as top Arkansas middle-distance runner Nikki Hiltz and Savannah Camacho of Oklahoma State are set to face off.
One of the most exciting events to watch will take place in the field as pole vault quartet Ariel Voskamp, Lexi Weeks, Tori Weeks and Megan Zimlich will showcase their talents on the runway.
Veteran vaulters Voskamp and Zimlich are primed to join the 14-foot club as both hold season’s best clearances equaling or better than 4.20/13-9 1/4.
